Welding Fixtures
In laser automated welding processes, welding fixtures ensure precise part positioning, consistent welding alignment, and repeatable quality, significantly improving welding reliability.
- Accurate positioning
- Clamp the workpiece
- Improve welding efficiency
- Ensure the stability of welding quality
- Improve working conditions
What is a Welding Fixture?
Welding fixture is an auxiliary equipment used in welding process, which is mainly used to fix and position the workpiece to be welded to ensure welding quality and improve welding efficiency. It can be widely used in automobile manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, hardware manufacturing and other industries.
Welding Fixture Design

Diversity and Uncertainty
There are many different ways to design welding jigs to complete the same welding task. Different customers have different focuses, so the design requirements of welding fixtures vary greatly.
Customizability
Welding fixtures are mainly used to solve the welding problems of non-standard equipment. Based on the personalized welding requirements provided by users, customized welding fixtures are designed to meet customers’ equipment products and services.

Essential Considerations for Welding Fixture Configuration
- The actual mass production object and the drawing, or at least one of them
- Is it pre-pointed or with a fixture
- Is the fixture automatic or manual
- The size requirements of the product after welding (product size guarantee point)
- Product manufacturing tolerance and deformation
- Accurately provide customer product information (product material, weld position, assembly requirements, product name)
- Required welding method (such as platform, robot, laser parameters, wire or no wire, gas shielded welding, robot size, spot welding, segment welding, full welding,)
- What requirements and standards should tooling and equipment meet (function, efficiency, ease of operation, degree of manual intervention in the clamping process, weld tracking)
- Positioner (for products that require multi-sided welding, is it required to automatically change the welding position or manually change the welding position)
- Is the product completed by welding with one set of tooling or by combining multiple sets of tooling
- Electrical control requirements
To achieve more efficient and professional welding, we customized a special tooling fixture for water manifolds.
It was integrated into and retrofitted onto the automatic welding machine – as shown in the video, you’ll see it ensures accurate clamping and alignment of the manifold components throughout the welding process, which in turn boosts both welding precision and efficiency.

A welding fixture is a uniquely designed tool for the alignment of workpieces and securing them in the right position for laser welding. Its primary purpose is to precisely join the welded components to get quality results. These specialized tools eliminate distortions that can affect the weld.
- Ensure positioning when processing complex-shaped workpieces
- Prevent parts from shifting during high-precision welding
- Cooperate with automated welding machines to achieve automated production
- Support and prevent deformation when welding large workpieces
